Where is the edgyness & excitement in Hip-Hop? ?

We have been bombarded with so much garbage within the last 10-15 years that now we are slowly one by one accepting & settling for whatever rap comes our way. I've heard so many excuses being made for wack artists from people i believe who should know better.
