If someone who calls themselves Christian but also subscribes to the notion that God might not exist...?

Are they regarded more as a Christian or as an Agnostic? In other words, do Christians accept the possibility of God not existing as compatible with Christianity? Or is someone who professes Christianity but admits that God might not exist not regarded as Christian?
