Genital Discharge - 3 yr old Female Dog?

Unless you missed the bleeding she should not start a heat with yellow discharge. Typically in MOST (not all) dogs bleeding occurs for up to a week which fades out to a yellowish clear discharge which signals nearing ovulation. It could be an infection. You should at least call the vet to ask advice. It wouldn't hurt, that way you know all your options.
